This is a two part video that looks at the subject of clouds in landscape painting.  The ability to observe and understand discernible patterns in nature is fundamental to landscape painting.


It allows a painter to interpret rather than copy a subject.    In Part 1 of the Cloud study in oil is the first stage of the painting process: the composition and the under-painting.  In the Cloud Study in Oil: Part 2 the colour palette is chosen and the painting process is demonstrated.
